- Jim Pee has dismissed reports of a suicide note, stating he has no knowledge of any such document left by his father.
- The son detailed how a housemate found Dada KD unconscious on a couch, initially thinking the singer was just resting.
- He emphasized that the official account of his father’s passing contradicts the sensational suicide rumors circulating online.
Jim Pee, the son of the late highlife legend Dada KD, has firmly debunked widespread rumors that his father left behind a suicide note prior to his passing.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi, the musician, born Gyimah Peterson, clarified that he has never seen any such document despite the heavy speculation circulating on social platforms.
“I have no idea about the suicide note my father allegedly wrote before his death. I never saw any suicide note, but I heard people saying it,” he stated, dismissing the claims as unverified gossip.
Narrating the actual events of the day, Jim Pee explained that a housemate discovered the singer unconscious on a couch after returning from an examination. Initially, the individual believed the legendary musician was simply asleep.
According to Jim Pee, it was only after the housemate returned from the kitchen and attempted to wake Dada KD for a meal that the severity of the situation became clear. “He tried waking him up, but he didn’t wake up. He was very heavy,” Jim Pee recounted.
The discovery of a broken glass near the body further indicated that the singer had already passed on before any medical intervention could be staged.
It will be recalled that the death of the “Fatuo Nye Mobo” hitmaker sent shockwaves through the Ghanaian music industry, with many struggling to accept the sudden loss of one of highlife’s most distinctive voices.
Indications from the son are that the true story behind his father’s death does not align with the suicide narrative being pushed in certain quarters, and he urged the public to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.
