- Actress Patricia Osei Boateng remanded for two weeks by a Kumasi High Court.
- She is allegedly linked to a robbery gang led by her husband, Eric Duku.
- The gang is accused of the murder of Andrew Amankwa, Sammy Gyamfi’s father-in-law.
A Kumasi High Court has remanded popular Kumawood actress and film producer Patricia Osei Boateng into police custody. The actress is facing serious allegations regarding her involvement in a high-profile armed robbery and carjacking syndicate reportedly led by her husband, Eric Duku.
The court’s decision, delivered on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, orders that Patricia be held for two weeks to allow the police to deepen their investigations. This messy situation follows the tragic robbery and fatal shooting of Andrew Amankwa, the father-in-law of Ghana Gold Board (GOLDBOD) CEO, Sammy Gyamfi. Prosecutors allege that Patricia played a role in the operation and assisted suspects in evading arrest.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, confirmed that a special task force including the Anti-Robbery and Cyber Vetting units has been working tirelessly on this case. So far, four other suspects have been picked up, including one Akwesi Manu, who was allegedly caught with the deceased’s Samsung phone.
It is a very shocking development for the Kumawood industry, as Patricia is a well-known figure on the screen. The police are tracing more leads to see if other “big names” are linked to this carjacking ring. For now, the actress will remain behind bars as the legal “wahala” continues to unfold in Kumasi.
